EDUCATE & RESPECT as well! Game Plan ~~~
Program FOCUS • Flag Education – Teach and practice the fundamental skills.
• Run training with schools and community groups.
• Recognize businesses and/or citizens displaying the Flag correctly.
• Hold respectful Flag Retirement Ceremonies. Pumping up the Crowd work – Promoting Patriotism
• Teach the meaning of traditions, symbols, and promote Patriotic Holidays (common/uncommon)
• Recognize Star Families – Blue, Gold and Silver – These families ARE your VIP Section Season Ticket Holders! • Promote #AuxiliaryPatriotism every day, all day!
• Use "POP” signs! POP (Point of Purchase) Displays are used to ATTRACT ATTENTION, make it POP!!! Use symbols like the American Flag, Bald Eagles, The Statue of Liberty and other patriotic imaging to promote Americanism. Use it on signs, flyers and especially SOCIAL MEDIA BLASTS! ‘TO BE AT THE TOP, MAKE IT POP!’
Promote and recognize patriotic holidays and/or branch of service birthdays and why these special dates should be remembered.
Educating the community, especially youth, on Flag etiquette and respect. Reach out to sports groups, schools, libraries and more.....share the meaning of the Stars and Strips, demonstrate Flag displays, sharing the importance of the Pledge of Allegiance and singing the National Anthem.

we will take care of your old, torn and tattered flags.

VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award Program Three exceptional teachers are awarded and recognized for their outstanding commitment to teach Americanism and Patriotism to their student body. One winner from Elementary, Jr High School and High School levels are awarded this prestigious honor.
VFW National Public Servant Award Citation
The VFW selects EMTs, law enforcement and firefighter personnel to present with
VFW Public Servant Awards. The request forms can be submitted by VFW members, found on www.vfw.org
VFW Life Saving Award Citation One of the highest recognitions is to honor those who display remarkable heroism, skill or bravery in saving or attempting to save a human life. Another form that can be found on VFW Member Dashboard for the nomination.
